Using Ad-Hoc Sessions

How therapist-created ad-hoc sessions work, including the admin setting that can disable them.

Who can create an ad-hoc session?

Only therapists can open New ad-hoc session from the Sessions page.

Admin control

Ad-hoc sessions are controlled by an organisation setting. If admins turn off Allow therapist ad-hoc sessions, the therapist cannot start a new ad-hoc session.

Which learners appear?

The therapist only sees learners who are already assigned to them. If they have no learner assignments yet, the app shows an empty state and asks them to contact an admin or supervisor.

What is selected before start?

The therapist chooses the learner, a saved learner location, and the programme or prototype assignment context needed for session delivery. Once submitted, the session starts immediately without a linked appointment.
