Controlling Therapist Ad-Hoc Sessions

How admins decide whether therapists can create sessions that are not tied to calendar appointments.

Where this setting lives

The Session preferences section in Settings includes the Allow therapist ad-hoc sessions checkbox.

What happens when it is on

Therapists can open New ad-hoc session from the Sessions page and start a session without a scheduled appointment.

What happens when it is off

The app hides the normal therapist start path and redirects therapists away from the ad-hoc session page with an error state if they try to access it directly.

Why teams use this setting

It gives admins control over whether all delivery should happen through scheduled appointments or whether therapists may also log unscheduled work.
